For second or third years who live around Smithdown, it’s a bit of a walk but absolutely worth every minute of it. To top it off, their Neapolitan pizzas are phenomenal!

Located right in the heart of Smithdown, this place is slowly becoming the life and soul of students desperate for a chilled environment to work and relax in.
Their Mediterraean breakfast is second to none and with a wide range of egg dishes, you will be leaving satisfied and raving about it to your friends. With free wifi and cheap coffees alongside opening times of 10am-10pm, you’ll find yourself spending all day here! Their food menu is incredibly varied with salads, soups, flatbreads, grilled rib-eye, and burgers to name a few.
If you fancy a Friday night kebab with a difference, then head to Friends on Smithdown road where they specialise in clay oven kebabs and naans. Arguably the best kebabs in Liverpool are right on your doorstep! All the naans are hand made in a toasty oven right in front of your eyes and the meats are of an incredible quality; their special sauce which is a mix of mayo, tahini and chilli creates an eye-watering taste in every bite of your Turkish delicacy. The portion sizes are huge and are value for money; you will never regret hitting up Friends. Always busy, always tasty and always the best service.

With the new addition of some incredible street food, Evil Eye is at the cutting edge of pushing boundaries at an affordable price. With boss burritos and a vast selection of international beers, this restaurant is truly unique. Channelling the Day of the Dead theme with its uniquely dark yet inviting décor, the Mexican inspired food is truly authentic and offers amazing quality food without scrimping on portion sizes. You are able to build your own burrito: choose your meat, sauce and rice type for a tailor-made delicious Mexican food. They have an incredible array of vegetarian and vegan options from ‘No pollos hermanos’ to ‘Hallou, Is It Me You’re Looking For’ are to die for.
If you can, go on one of their nights where they have a live band on; the intimate venue excels at putting on nights that mean you’ll find yourself in here a lot longer than planned. Give this student and local favourite a chance – you won’t regret it.
